About Us
The Institute of Cyber Security Zimbabwe (ICSZ) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing cybersecurity knowledge, skills, and best practices. Describing itself as the only organization in Zimbabwe devoted exclusively to the study and development of cybersecurity best practices, the ICSZ aims to equip both individuals and organizations with the tools needed to navigate the evolving digital landscape safely .
The institute operates as an educational hub, providing information, analysis, education, and research in information security . Its work is considered increasingly critical, as Zimbabwe has been identified as one of the most cyber-attacked countries globally.
Key Activities and Programs
Training and Education
The ICSZ offers a range of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programs, training sessions, and workshops . These programs are tailored to meet the needs of different professional levels and include :
Cybersecurity Fundamentals: An 8-week course for beginners covering network security, cryptography, and threat analysis.
Advanced Cyber Defense: A 12-week program for IT professionals focusing on intrusion detection, ethical hacking, and incident response.
Secure Software Development: A 10-week project-based course for developers on secure coding practices and software vulnerabilities.
Network Security Management: A 10-week workshop covering firewall configuration, VPNs, and wireless security.
